The film captures the making of a verbatim puppet show, sharing the story of Hoda Ali, FGM survivor and activist. Artist Nikki Charlesworth and Hoda have been collaborating with the support of City Arts to create a show based on Hoda’s own experience of surviving FGM and also leaving her native Somalia. Filmmaker Tim Chesney captured the development of the project and this will be shared along with conversations with Nikki and Hoda, who continue to highlight the work needed to eradicate FGM.
